The first big rock festival in Greece

It was July 1985 when the first pages were written in the domestic music festival history book.

For two nights, on the 26th and 27th, more than 80,000 music lovers flooded the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, attending the historic Rock in Athens 85, the first major rock festival organised in Greek soil.

The line-up was illustrious. The very best of rock and post-punk including The Clash, The Cure, Culture Club, Depeche Mode, Nina Hagen and many more provided an eye-opening experience for a young greek audience.
